Basic Knowledge of Rolling Mill

In recent years, the continuous casting and rolling production lines of some thin slab rolling mill equipment at home and abroad have realized the batch production of thin gauge and ultra-thin gauge hot strip one after another by taking a series of control technologies and measures in the control of molten steel composition, the optimization of continuous casting and heating process and the rolling schedule of finishing rolling mill.

Rolling mill equipment is a kind of rolling mill machine which rolls steel pieces between rotating rolls. Generally, rolling mill equipment includes two parts: main equipment (main machine) and auxiliary equipment (auxiliary machine). According to the number of rolls, the rolling mill equipment can be divided into two roll type, three roll type, four roll type, and multi-roll type.

The rolling mill equipment is driven by the electric motor. When the rolling process does not require speed regulation, the AC motor is used. When the rolling process needs speed regulation, the DC motor is used. The driving mechanism of the rolling mill equipment includes gear base, reducer, flywheel, connecting shaft, coupling, and other parts.

The working stand of rolling mill equipment includes: stand, in which the bearing of roll is installed; roll and rolled piece are compressed between them; roll bearing; roll adjustment mechanism, which is used to adjust the distance between rolls; guide and guard device, which is used to maintain the direction of inlet and outlet of rolled piece; stand, stand is fixed on the stand, and the stand is fixed on the foundation.

Rolling mill equipment is the equipment to realize the metal rolling process, which generally refers to the equipment to complete the whole process of rolling production, including main equipment, auxiliary equipment, lifting and transportation equipment and auxiliary equipment.
