Failure Analysis of Vibration Fault of Rolling Mills

types of rolling mills

The vibration fault and its causes of the steel rolling equipment rotor show that the rotor is always in operation during the construction of rolling machinery, and the vibration fault is very common. There are three main reasons for the vibration fault. First, the rotor speed should be kept at a high state to meet the production and operation requirements of all rolling equipment. On this basis, the rotor will occasionally operate with load, and it is difficult to maintain normal under high-speed load. Secondly, the installation quality of the rotor will also become the influence factor of the fault. The installation position of the rotor must be correct, and the distance and relationship between the rotor and the rotating shaft must be well matched, so that the rotor can run around the rotating shaft, and the two will not be worn due to poor operation coordination.

Therefore, the misoperation of the rotor installation by the operator will cause the rotor vibration fault. Thirdly, as an important part of steel rolling equipment, the rotor must meet the production requirements of machinery in terms of its own manufacturing quality and function. Under the rated pressure, the rotor can still maintain its original state and operate normally, but in practice, the rotor itself will have quality defects, which make the rotor easy to deform and wear too tight, and will also affect the building during the rolling process.

The vibration fault of the motor of the rolling equipment and its causes show that the motor is widely used in the rolling equipment, and the vibration fault is also short and frequent in the rolling mill. Usually, the main causes of such failures are rotor installation failure during motor assembly, voltage imbalance and instability between rotor and stator, and finally shafting looseness and abnormal vibration failure during the high-speed torsional conflict.

The gear vibration fault of rolling equipment and its causes show that gear transmission is the most commonly used transmission mechanism of rolling machinery. The most common faults of gear transmission are tooth wear and tooth root fracture. The cause of these faults is that the gear rotates at high speed, and the amplitude of bumps exceeds the load, resulting in rapid wear of the gear, abnormal vibration of the gear, and even tooth root fracture during tensioning.

Vibration failure of rolling shaft of rolling equipment and its causes: The reason for rolling bearing failure is that the operating frequency is too far from the scale value, either too high or too low. At this operating frequency, the bearing is prone to conflict with the surrounding environment during rolling. The load and operating speed of the bearing will lead to increased wear, and it will become tenser and tenser when it becomes a vibration fault.
