The rolling mill equipment is the equipment that realizes the metal rolling process, and also refers to the equipment that completes the whole process of rolling material production, including main equipment, auxiliary equipment, lifting transportation equipment and auxiliary equipment. These equipment are often used in construction and mining projects. What are the main components of this equipment? The following is a brief introduction to the components of the rolling mill equipment.

1. The work machine seat

It is composed of the roll, rolling mill arch, bearing package, bearing, worktable, rolling guide, roll seat, roll adjusting device, upper roll balancing device and roll changing device.

2. Rolling mill roll/roll bearing

The roller is the part that makes the metal plastic deformation. The roller bearing supports the roller and maintains the fixed position of the roller in the frame. The working load of the roller bearing is heavy and the change is large, so the friction coefficient of the bearing is required to be small. It needs to have enough strength and rigidity, and it is easy to change the roller.

3. The Rack

It is composed of two “housing frames” to install the roller bearing seat and roller adjustment device, which need to have enough strength to bear the rolling force. There are mainly two types of frames: closed type and open type. The closed stand is an integral frame with high strength and rigidity, which is mainly used in the blooming mill and strip mill with a large rolling force. The open frame is composed of the frame body and the upper cover, which is convenient for roll changing. It is mainly used in the cross-section mill. In addition, there is a houseless rolling mill.

4. Roll seat

It is used to install the rack and fix it on the foundation, also known as the baseboard, which bears the gravity and overturning moment of the working frame, and ensure the accuracy of the installation dimension of the working frame.

5. Roller adjustment device

It is used to adjust the roll gap to make the rolled piece reach the required section size. The upper roller adjusting device is also called “pressing device”, which has three types: manual, electric and hydraulic. Manual screw-down device is mostly used in the profile rolling mill and small rolling mill. Electric screw-down device includes motor, reducer, brake, screw, nut, position indicator, spherical cushion block and pressure gauge.

6. The upper roll balancing device

A device used to lift the upper roll and prevent the impact of the rolled piece when entering and leaving the roll. The forms are: spring type, mostly used in profile rolling mill; heavy hammer type, commonly used in blooming mill with large roll movement; hydraulic type, mostly used in four high strip mill.

In order to improve the operation rate, it is necessary to change the roll quickly and conveniently. There are four kinds of roll changing methods: C hook type, sleeve type, trolley type and whole frame roll changing type. The first two methods are used to change the roll by crane, while the whole stand needs two sets of stands. This method is mostly used in the small rolling mill. Trolley roll change is suitable for large rolling mill, and is conducive to automation. Nowadays, the rolling mill adopts the rapid automatic roll changing device, which only takes 5-8 minutes to change the roll once.

7. Transmission device

It is composed of motor, reducer, gear base, and connecting shaft. The gear base distributes the transmission torque to two or several rolls. Auxiliary equipment includes a series of equipment for auxiliary processes in the rolling process, such as raw material preparation, heating, turning steel, shearing, straightening, cooling, etc.

8. Auxiliary equipment

There are power supply, power distribution, roll grinding, lubrication, water supply and drainage, fuel supply, compressed air, hydraulic pressure, iron oxide scale removal, machine repair, electrical repair, acid discharge, oil, water, acid recovery, environmental protection, and other equipment.
